Cinnamaldehyde is the natural principal phytocompound from cinnamon. It possesses enormous therapeutic applications. Its Schiff bases and metal complexes exhibit comparably higher cellular absorption and specific medicinal attributes than cinnamaldehyde. Therefore, the present study was framed on the coordination chemistry and biomedicinal aspects specifically antimicrobial and anticancer activity of cinnamaldehyde derivatives. The mechanistic insights behind the antimicrobial and anticancer approaches were also emphasized. The thermal behavior and in-silico studies of cinnamaldehyde derivatives were also highlighted. It has been observed that cinnamaldehyde Schiff bases and metal complexes synthesis is the positive approach to enhancing cinnamaldehyde's medicinal properties. The computer-aided drug designs also authenticate the cinnamaldehyde antimicrobial and anticancer efficacies. The hydrophobicity and altered redox behaviour of cinnamaldehyde and its metal complexes were attributable to their antimicrobial and anticancer activity, respectively.Hence cinnamaldehyde derivatives provide an excellent approach to furnish cinnamaldehyde's full therapeutic potential.
