In this paper, a lightweight wireless charging system with high power density is proposed to solve the problems of limited load and insufficient endurance of small UAV. The overall model of UAV fuselage and wireless charging system is established. The influence of UAV fuselage material on wireless charging system is simulated and analyzed, and a lightweight magnetic shielding scheme is proposed to reduce fuselage eddy current loss and improve system transmission efficiency. An experimental prototype with an output power of 30 W, an efficiency of 84% and an air gap of 6 mm is built. Under the frequency of 100 kHz, the internal resistance of the coil is reduced by 36%, the weight of the coupling mechanism at the overall receiving end is 12 g, and the efficiency is improved by 9.7% compared with the design without considering electromagnetic shielding.KeywordsWireless chargingNanocrystallineLightweightEddy current lossMagnetic coupler
