The coexistence of sarcoidosis and malignant lymphoma cannot be excluded, but another, more likely possibility is that the patient had a steroid-responsive lymphoma, even from the onset of his disease.The nonnecrotizing granuloma of sarcoidosis has been studied extensively (2). This pathologic finding is distinctive but highly nonspecific. It can be seen in various clinical situations, including infectious and inflammatory conditions; drug and chemical-induced states; other granulomatoses; and in association with malignancy.
