Activated carbon fiber (ACF) for supercapacitor application was prepared from ramie fiber activated by zinc chloride(ZnCl2) at different activation temperature. The BET specific surface area and pore structure parameters of ACFs were determined by the N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms at 77 K. It is found that BET specific surface area is decreased with the activation temperature. The electrochemical test indicates that ACF activated at 650 ℃ shows higher specific capacitance (253 F/g) under 50 mA/g, lower series resistance, better power capability and longer cycle life.
