摘要
The DNA damage response , which includes DNA repair and cell cycle checkpoint pathways in cancer cells, has been considered one of the main impediments to traditional chemotherapy. In their Research Article (e202117075), Na Kong, Xingcai Zhang, Wei Tao, Jong Seung Kim, and co-workers developed a multifunctional construct, M1, to target the DNA damage response of cancer cells. The findings identified a critical role of DNA damage repair pathways during 5-FU/FUDR therapy and underscore the role of inhibition of these pathways in sensitizing cancer cells to chemotherapeutics.
