Feldspars, a type of important and prevalent primary mineral in soils, play a significant role in the migration of radioactive strontium in the environment. Nevertheless, there are rare studies on strontium adsorption on feldspars. This work presents a study on the interaction between strontium and K-feldspar at the solid-water interface. The effects of environmental factors were evaluated using batch experiments with 90 Sr tracer. Surface complexation contributed to the chemical adsorption of strontium in the slightly acidic condition. • Strontium adsorption on K-feldspar under environmental factors was studied. • Fitting results of kinetics and isotherms confirmed chemical adsorption. • Adsorption promoted by sulfate and humic acid was mainly in the acidic conditions. • Surface complexation started to contribute adsorption in faintly acidic conditions.
