Studies on chemical constituents of Paris delavayi Franch.

Aim:To investigate the chemical constituents in the Rhizoma of Paris delavayi Franch.Method:Compounds were isolated by silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 and RP-C_(18) column chromatography and the structures were elucidated on the basis of physiochemical data and spectral characteristics.Result:Eight compounds were isolated and identified as six steroidal saponins:paris saponin Ⅰ(1),paris saponin Ⅱ(2),25(R) diosgenin-3-Oα-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside(3),25(R)diosgenin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→3)[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside(4),25(R) pennogenin-3-O-α-L-arabinofuranosyl(1→4)[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside(5),25(R)pennogenin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→4)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→4)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside(6);one phytoecdysone:2β,3β,14α,20β,22α,25-hexahydroxy-cholest-7-en-6-one(7);and daucosterol(8).Conclusion:All the eight compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time.
