Samarium-based Grignard-type addition of organohalides to carbonyl compounds under catalysis of CuI

A useful versatile samarium–CuI based carbonyl addition protocol via organohalides was achieved, with the advantages of excellent efficiency, broad applicability and high chemoselectivity.
