To enhance the robustness of model predictive voltage control (MPVC) in permanent magnet synchronous motor systems, in this article, a novel MPVC approach with low parameter sensitivity is proposed. First, the conventional MPVC approach is briefly introduced, and the influence of model parameter mismatch is analyzed. Then, the proposed approach is put forward where the prediction model based on an incremental model is established to reduce the nonnegligible effect related to flux-linkage mismatch. A novel controller is designed to eliminate the bad influence resulting in inductance mismatch and obtain the accurate reference voltage vector combined with the stored value of voltage. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is confirmed through experiments conducted on a 1.25-kW experimental platform.
