摘要
The intent of this symposium is to engage and provoke attendees to explore the paradoxes involved in applying wisdom in the workplace and the requirements for creating and sustaining wise leadership in organizations. This topic is especially important given the ongoing perceived current vacuum of wise leadership in the United States and in other governments around the world. The overall aim is to investigate how we can recognize and develop wise leadership, especially in large organizations, as well as work with the inherent paradoxes and competing values that face both leaders in profit-oriented firms. Symposium Objectives: 1. To create a dialogue about the ways in which wise leadership plays a central role in creating effective and sustainable organizations; 2. To explore practices that bring awareness, clarity and action to engage in and expand our spiritual and social intelligences; 3. To cultivate a heightened consciousness in our personal and professional lives for recognizing and developing organizational wisdom; and 4. To appreciate how the wisdom of embracing ongoing paradoxes can open paths to interpersonal connection and compassion within the workplace.
