Complexes of copper (I) with triphenylphosphine

The preparation of three types of complexes (1:1, 1:3 and 2:3) by the direct reaction of Cu(I)X (XCl, Br, I) and triphenylphosphine is described. Characteristic absorption bands in the infra-red (KBr region) and ultra-violet absorption frequencies of the 1:3 and 2:3 complexes are reported.
