White Analytical Chemistry (WAC) was established for the reconciliation of the greenness and the practicality of analytical techniques. Implementing the 12 principles of WAC, a selective white electrochemical tool was created to guarantee effective determination of the antidepressant desvenlafaxine succinate (ODV) using glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to be an ion- to- electron transducer after comparing it with three alternative transducers. Upon validation, the chosen electrode displayed a broad range of linearity from 1.0 × 10−2 M to 3.16 × 10−6 M with 58.8 mV/decade near-Nernstian slope and a detection limit of 1.99 × 10−6 M. The sensor proved its efficiency in the quantification of ODV in pure form, dosage form and in different biological fluids (urine and plasma) with no need for sample pre-treatment. A green profile was provided to inspect the proposed technique greenness by using two metrics, together with the whiteness assessment using the RGB 12 model. They showed that the method is eco-friendly and entirely white with an overall brilliance of 73.1 % making it a simple, inexpensive, readily available tool to be used in-line within quality control units, production units, hospitals and clinical laboratories for regular check-ups or overdose emergencies with the lowest possible impact on the environment.
