摘要
This article discusses both practical and theoretical aspects of operation of Li‐ion batteries. Herein, structural, transport, and electrochemical properties as well as electronic structure of Cu‐substituted LiNi 0.9– y – z Co y Mn 0.1 Cu z O 2 mixed oxides—candidate cathode materials for Li‐ion batteries—of the material are reported. The presented data show that copper has a beneficial effect on electronic transport properties, lithium diffusion, and cathodes performance. Battery on the base on the developed LiNi 0.88– y Co y Mn 0.1 Cu 0.02 O 2 cathode materials is characterized by high voltage, high capacity, and high rate capability, which guarantees high energy and power densities. The correlation between the results of electronic structure calculations, the transport properties, and electrochemical behavior of Li x Ni 0.58 Co 0.3 Mn 0.1 Cu 0.02 O 2– δ cathode is shown.
