摘要
There are twelve administrative villages in Yaoqia township of Amdo county. The names of the villages are numbered according to the distance of the administrative village from the township government. This author has studied Village Five, and in line with sociological usage named the village "Yaoqia village." This village consists of forty-six households with a population of 225 people. The largest household consists of twelve members, and the average is 5.5 persons per household. The entire village adheres to the Tibetan Buddhist Ge Lu sect. There are no schools in the village, but the great majority of the villagers can read the Tibetan script, and some are able to both read and write. Very few speak the Han language.
