Fine Particulate Emissions Due to Wind Erosion

ABSTRACT THE ratios of emission of fine particles (d<0.02 mm) by wind erosion to total soil movement are measured and related to empirical ARS work relating total soil movement to wind and soil parameters. It is concluded that the ratio of fine particle emission to total soil move-ment is dependent on soil texture, windspeed, mineral-ogy, and possibly physical weathering.
