摘要
El Sela is considered as one of the most important occurrences of radioactive elements, radioactive bearing minerals, as well as REE elements in Egypt. The aim of the present work is to study the distribution patterns of natural radioactivity and rare earth elements in 24 intrusive rocks collected from El Sela area, Eastern Desert, Egypt to use in the field of construction and adornment or not and the extent of their impact on those who use them in their homes or for other purposes. The natural radionuclide contents (Raeq), equivalent activities and various hazard indices were also calculated to assess the radiation hazard parameters. On the other hand, the REE concentrations are relatively variable from the host two-mica granite and post-granitic dikes. REEs concentrations are enriched in LREEs relative to heavy ones with higher values of post-granitic dikes. The chondrite normalised REEs exhibit negative Eu anomaly in the studied intrusive rocks, except that the microgranite shows no sign of Eu anomaly.
