Physicochemical properties and fatty acid composition of Calophyllum inophyllum seed oil

Calophyllum inophyllum seed oil was extracted from the seed of Calophyllum inophyllum by mechanical press,and its physicochemical properties and composition of fatty acids were respectively detected by chemical and GC-MS analysis methods.The results showed that the acid value,peroxide value,refractive index(n20D),iodine value,moisture and volatile matter content,ash content,saponification value and specific gravity(d254) of the oil were 27 mgKOH/g,1.184 meq/kg,1.489 2,83.96 gI/100 g,0.070%,0.029%,192.3 mgKOH/g,and 0.934 8.The Calophyllum inophyllum seed oil mainly contained eight fatty acids,such as 9-octadecenoic acid(27.67%),9,12-octadecadienoic acid(16.78%),9-octadecenoic acid(13.54%,E),octadecanoic acid(12.92%),hexadecanoic acid(10.77%),11,14-eicosadienoic acid(7.17%),n-hexadecanoic acid(5.24%),heptadecanoic acid(5.13%).
