Prognostic factors in ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer is the sixth most common neoplasm among women worldwide and accounts for 4.3% of all female malignancies [1]. The highest incidence rates are reported from Northwestern Europe and North America, where the incidence has remained almost constant over the past two to three decades. Ovarian cancer is less common in developing countries and Japan, but an increase in incidence in these areas has been observed recently [2].
