The grinding surface with high machining quality and superior physical properties is in urgent demand, but most existing manufacturing methods have limitations in manufacturing cost and efficiency. Therefore, the carburization-assisted grinding method is proposed, and the effects of micro-carburizing on macroscopic surface integrity and microscopic dynamic material removal are revealed. Based on experimental and digital twin models, the surface generation mechanism correlating material flow and grain interference is constructed. The results show that the micro-carburizing effect could effectively increase the hardness of the machined surface (maximum enhancement rate: 60%) and improve surface precision (Ra reduced by 0.3 µm). It is a significant attempt to advance high-performance manufacturing toward processing-strengthening integration, which has broad application prospects in high-performance manufacturing.
