Analysis of Volatile Compounds in Senecio cannabifolius Less.

The volatile compounds in Senecio cannabifolius Less.were reported.The yield of volatile compounds in the leaves of S.cannabifolius was 0.503%.The 26 compounds,includingα-farnesene(13.37%),n-hexadecanoic acid(8.62%),2,6dimethyl-6-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)-bicyclohept-2-ene(6.93%),caryophyllene(5.32%),were identified.The yield of volatile compounds in the stem of S.cannabifolius was 0.036%.The 36 compounds,including n-hexadecanoic acid(24.12%),caryophyllene oxide(11.16%),1-methyl-2-pentyl-cyclopropane(9.55%),caryophyllene(5.78%),were found. The results could provide a basis for evaluating its quality and developing new drugs.
