摘要
An understanding of the mechanisms that control the mobility of charge carriers is central to the operation of organic semiconductor devices such as organic light-emitting diodes, field-effect transistors and solar cells. As an introduction into this research area, we present first a critical overview on experimental techniques available to measure charge carrier mobilities under various conditions. This is followed by a description of the pertinent theoretical concepts, illustrated by using representative experimental results. Finally we discuss current approaches taken to improve charge carrier mobility by controlling thin film morphologies.
