摘要
The adsorption and thermal reactivity of 1-3 cyclopentadiene on a Pt(111) surface has been studied by EEL and TD spectroscopies. At 90K, disproportionation to a pentahaptocyclopentadienyl (η5 -Cp) and η2(di-σ)-c-C5H8 occurs. On annealing a coverage dependent dehydrogenation of the latter to η5 - Cp occurs at ~300K. At higher temperatures (>500K) η5-Cp is destructively dehydrogenated to irreversibly adsorbed carbon. At saturation c-C5H8 is reactively displaced from the surface at 315K and at higher temperatures parent c-C5H6 is desorbed at 430K apparently by disproportionation of η5-Cp.
