Ice and snow sports play an increasingly important role in the development of regional tourism economy and social progress as an important form of sports activity. This paper takes the Northeast region of China as an example, and explores the impact of ice and snow sports on the regional tourism economy and social development. Firstly, it analyzes the role of ice and snow sports in the regional tourism economy, including the richness of ice and snow tourism resources, their attractiveness, and their driving force for regional economic growth. Secondly, it discusses the impact of ice and snow sports on regional social development, including their influence on the physical health and lifestyles of local people, their promotion of cultural inheritance and exchange, and their effect on regional social unity and cohesion. Through an empirical analysis of the ice and snow resources overview, the current situation of ice and snow sports tourism economy, and their impact on social development in the Northeast region, the paper explains the significant importance of ice and snow sports to the region. The paper also discusses the challenges and opportunities faced in the development of ice and snow sports, and provides an outlook on future trends and directions for ice and snow sports development. In conclusion, ice and snow sports have a positive promoting effect on the regional tourism economy and social development, and with the continuous development of ice and snow sports, they will bring more development opportunities to the region.
