摘要
The purpose of this study is to explore the teaching and learning potential of ChatGPT, a language model developed by OpenAI, and to find ways to use it appropriately in English learning. This study first analyzes previous studies related to English teaching using ChatGPT and applies the proposed methods to ChatGPT to suggest ways to improve learners' English abilities by involving them in language and content-based activities in English learning environments. To this end, previous studies were analyzed focusing on four English functions: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The focus was on how ChatGPT was used for each function, and these methods were applied to ChatGPT for testing. The results were analyzed to suggest the possibility of using ChatGPT in English learning. In summary, the results of previous studies show that ChatGPT is not perfect, but it has a very high level of diverse range of abilities. If ChatGPT is utilized in English teaching and learning, it can be a great helper. More detailed information on this and how to use it is reported in the results section of this study.
