Exposure to a range of stressful life events (SLE) is implicated in youth psychopathology. Previous studies point to a discrepancy between parents'/children's reports regarding stressful life events. No study systematically assessed the correlation between such discrepancies and psychopathology in depressed youth. This study was designed to assess parent-youth discrepancies regarding stressful life events and its association with severity of psychopathology at baseline and response to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) treatment in depressed youth.
