Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and leading cause of cancer death in the world.1 Non–small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for ∼85% of all lung cancer cases. Brain metastasis is the most common distant metastasis associated with NSCLC. Approximately 40% of patients with NSCLC will develop brain metastasis, and these patients have had poor overall survival of only 3 to 6 months and few effective treatment options.2 The current treatments include surgical resection, whole brain radiation therapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery, either alone or combined with other strategies.
