Phytochemical studies have revealed the presence of alkaloids, steroids, glycosides, flavonoids, cumene, thymine. Medicinally it posseses pharmacological activities like antifungal, antioxidant, antimicrobial, broncho-dilating action. Its ethnobotanical uses are venomous insect bite, kidney stone, stomach tonic and acidity.
