Photocatalytic disinfection of S. aureus using black TiO2−x under visible light

Reduced black TiO 2− x was developed by a sol–gel combustion method. Evidence of reactive oxygen species production under visible light was obtained, and the material inactivated S. aureus by photocatalytic means under only visible light irradiation.
