摘要
Stereoselective synthesis of natural and bioactive compounds containing several centers of chirality located on carbon atoms has been one of the main themes of organic synthesis for the last few decades. In this context, the unique reactivity of allenes combined with their inherent axial chirality makes them excellent chiral building blocks to be employed in synthetic strategies involving chirality transfer. This approach is highlighted by several transformations of allenes that proceed with excellent stereospecificity and belong to such broad reaction classes as nucleophilic addition and substitution, epoxidation and aziridination, intra- and intermolecular electrophilic addition, electrocyclic reactions, including cycloadditions or transition metal-catalyzed reactions.
