摘要
Li metal batteries feature high working voltage and energy density, thus have received tremendous attention in recent years. However, further development of Li metal batteries is hampered by several inherent problems in both anode and cathode. The main challenge with the anode is safety concerns due to continuous growth of lithium dendrites. Besides, high reactivity of Li metal with electrolytes largely consumes electrolytes, which should be addressed. For the cathode, the main problems are structural collapse of cathode materials and dissolution of metal ions. In the face of these problems, the construction of stable electrode–electrolyte interface is considered to be an effective method. For the construction of stable solid electrolyte interphase/cathode electrolyte interphase (SEI/CEI) layer for Li metal batteries, many efforts have been devoted in recent years. In this part, we give an overview of the study of the construction of stable SEI/CEI on anode and cathode.
