A synthesis is provided of the accumulated knowledge concerning terrestrial gastropod life history, mainly in reference to such aspects as outcrossing versus selfing, random versus non-random mating, egg size versus egg numbers, egg survival, oviparity versus ovoviviparity, semelparity versus iteroparity, and short versus long life span.
