Jennifer González is an associate professor in and the chair of the History of Art and Visual Culture Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her writings have appeared in anthologies such as The Cyborg Handbook (ed. Chris Hables Gray, Heidi Figueroa-Sarriera, and Steven Mentor, Routledge, 1995), Race in Cyberspace (ed. Beth Kolko, Lisa Nakamura, and Gil Rodman, Routledge, 2000), and Only Skin Deep: Changing Visions of the American Self (ed. Coco Fusco and Brian Wallis, International Center of Photography, 2003). Her book Subject to Display: Reframing Race in Contemporary Installation Art was published by MIT Press in 2008.
