A quantum mechanics and molecular mechanics study of bis-thiosemicarbazones with strong antiplasmodial properties as Fe(III)-selective chelators and inhibitors of hemozoin formation

Bis-thiosemicarbazones with strong antiplasmodial properties are found to exert their therapeutic effects through Fe( iii )-selective chelation and inhibition of hemozoin formation in plasmodium parasites.
