Selectivity controlled synthesis of furan-ring nitrogenous compounds from 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, ammonia and hydrogen peroxide

A series of furan-ring nitrogenous compounds were synthesized from 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), NH 3 and H 2 O 2 under mild conditions. The yields of all the products could reach more than 90%.
