Quantitative study of free amino acids in human eccrine sweat during normal conditions and exercise

With the aid of ion-exchange chromatography, we determined the free amino acids in human sweat from different parts of the body during normal conditions and exercise. The results showed a constant, qualitative amino acid pattern and large individual and regional differences. The average values obtained for the concentration of free amino acids excreted from the face at rest were statistically significantly lower in comparison to the values under exercise.
