摘要
The original Sublimator Driven Coldplate (SDC) design sought to provide significant mass savings over a traditional pumped fluid loop by combining the functions of a coldplate and a sublimator so that the fluid loop could be eliminated. The Integrated Sublimator Driven Coldplate (ISDC) builds on the original SDC concept by adding coolant layers so that it can be integrated with the pumped fluid loop on a vehicle. The ISDC can function as both a standard flow-through coldplate and an SDC. In this work, an ISDC test article was designed, assembled, and tested in a vacuum chamber. The testing results demonstrate proof of concept for the ISDC. The outstanding agreement and consistency among the analytical predictions, Thermal Desktop model, and test results demonstrates a thorough understanding of the unique aspects of the ISDC performance. This understanding provides a strong foundation for further development and refinement of the ISDC design.
