摘要
This chapter deals with properties and processing of thermoset resins. The concepts of network formation and the phenomenon, which a thermoset resin encounters during curing, namely, gelation and vitrification are discussed. Cure kinetics of thermoset resins with various models are elaborated. Thermomechanical properties and rheological properties of thermoset resins are covered in this chapter. New class of thermosets like interpenetrating polymer networks, liquid crystalline thermoset, flame-retardant thermosets, smart thermoset (self-healing and self-memory), metal–organic framework (MOF), and vitrimers are also discussed.
