Recently, we read with great interest in the paper of ‘Markedly reduced myocardial expression of γ-protocadherins and long non-coding RNAs in patients with heart disease’ written by Joakim and his colleagues [ [1] Sandstedt J. Vukusic K. Rekabdar E. et al. Markedly reduced myocardial expression of gamma-protocadherins and long non-coding RNAs in patients with heart disease[J]. Int. J. They demonstrated that NEAT1 is strikingly reduced expression among the 100 most downregulated transcripts in the patient group. This suggest that NEAT1 may play a critical role in the pathogenesis of heart disease.
