A broad overview of, synthesis of, and applications of polyurethane (PU)-based nanocomposites are presented in this chapter. The roles of nanoparticles/fillers for the enhancement in applications of PU nanocomposites are discussed. The main significance of this chapter is to show the effect of incorporating various fillers on the mechanical and physical properties of PUs. The chapter briefly describes various processes for the synthesis of PU nanocomposites, global demand, types of PUs, and various constituents of PU. Carbon, natural fibers, layered silicates, metal oxides, conductivities, and biobased PUs, as well as important properties (shape memory, self-healing properties, flame-retardant properties, self-cleaning properties, etc.), are provided for the nanocomposites. The properties of PUs—such as conductivity, mechanical ability, thermal ability, electrical ability, and so forth—are discussed with literature support. The uses of the PU nanocomposites in radar, electrical conductivity, household goods, UV radiation protection, flexible magnetism, biodegradable nature, health care, and similar applications are explained. This chapter also highlights applications of PU nanocomposites in advanced fields. The future outlook of versatile PU nanocomposites is mentioned at the end of this chapter.
