Synthesis and Reactivity of Fluorinated Organometallic Species

Abstract This chapter aims to serve as an introduction to recent advances (2015–2022) in the synthesis of fluorinated organometallic species and the study of their reactivity. Each section focuses on metal complexes bearing metal–fluoride bonds (MF), metal–polyfluoroalkyl bonds (MRF), and fluorinated arenes. These sections are structured in terms of conceptually different synthetic approaches and reactivity patterns. Thermodynamic and mechanistic considerations of the synthesis and reactivity of these species are discussed where possible.
