摘要
Abstract This article highlights the epoxy resin (ER) coatings as versatile solutions to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and durability across various industries. These coatings protect surfaces like metals, concrete, and composites by forming tough, impermeable barriers. In infrastructure, these coatings safeguard pipelines, tanks, and bridges against corrosion and environmental wear, whereas in the marine industry, these prevent water ingress and ensure structural stability. Aerospace and automotive sectors utilize epoxy (EP) coatings for drag reduction, enhancing fuel efficiency, and minimizing surface friction. Self‐healing ERs further enhance durability and reduce maintenance needs, enabling sustainable material applications. Overall, 93% of self‐healing efficiency of ERs is recorded. Recent innovations include eco‐friendly resins derived from renewable resources, which lower environmental impact without compromising performance. Solvent‐free EP coatings also address safety and ecological by eliminating volatile organic compounds. Key factors like pot life and curing life are critical for optimal application and performance.
