摘要
Systems theory provides a model useful for describing the characteristics of healthy functioning in a biological organism and a human community. Communication is central in the process of maintenance and adaptation of the system-environment relationship which occurs between the individual and his community, and between community and the larger world environment. Health communication involves the modulation, direction, and careful introduction of environmental change in such a way as to maximize the ability of the individual and his community to adapt successfully. The conclusion as to the choice of health care workers, use of media, and methods of health communication suggested by the model developed, support the recommendations of experienced health-care workers from various parts of the globe.
