Shape memory polymers (SMPs) are one of the most intriguing class of smart materials that have the ability to change their shape in a controlled fashion. Numerous applications have been defined for the use of shape memory polymers from artificial muscles to soft robotics. Many efforts have been devoted to combine shape memory behavior with additional functionalities. In this context, SMPs based on PVDF and its copolymers, have received attention due to their electroactive properties. This chapter presents an overview of the recent developments and main characteristics of PVDF-based shape memory materials.
