摘要
Abstract This paper describes the principles and applications of a recent development in materials testing: high-temperature nanoindentation. This technique opens up the possibility to design-in thin-film mechanical properties at high temperature based on the results of laboratory nanoindentation tests at temperatures which are close to those experienced in service (and hence more industrially relevant) so that the results can be used with confidence to optimize the mechanical properties of coatings and thin films for specific applications.
