Determination of arbutin in Piloselloides hirsuta by HPLC

OBJECTIVE To determine the contents of arbutin in Piloselloides hirsuta(Forsk.)G.Jeffrey by RP-HPLC.METHODS DiamonsilTM C18(150 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm)column was used.Column temperature was 35 ℃,and mobile phase consisted of methanol-water(5:95)mixture,with detecting wave at 280 nm.RESULTS The linear range determination of arbutin was 0.739-4.434 μg,and the mean recovery was 99.58% for arbutin with RSD of 1.1%.CONCLUSION The method is simple,accurate,specific and sensitive for the determination arbutin content.
