Researchers are now aiming to develop multifunctional materials that are nontoxic, minimal in cost, and simple to produce and have superior efficiency for large-scale electrochemical sensor applications. Uric acid (UA) is a biomarker correlated with gout and kidney stones that has an adverse effect on the human body. Here, UA was measured using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and amperometric (i–t) techniques with a superactive Wolframite structure of CuWO4. CuWO4 was characterized using a variety of microscopic and spectroscopic methods. The data collected indicated that the electrode modified with CuWO4 provides a superior electrochemical oxidation peak current compared with the bare electrode. CuWO4 exhibits wide linear ranges, with a lower limit of detection obtained from DPV and i–t techniques. Furthermore, the CuWO4-modified sensor has been used to determine the concentration of UA in urine and bovine serum albumin samples. Moreover, the CuWO4-modified sensor has great stability and reproducibility.
