Objective To test the convenience of the plastic ampoules in opemng operations and identification; to explore the acceptance of nurses for the packaging materials,and the incidence of the occupational injuries associated with using ampoules.Methods Combined control study with questionnaire survey.Opening time,breakage rate,recognition time and recognition accuracy in control study were compared between the plastic ampoules and glass ampoules in 31 nurses who 10 opening plastic and glass ampoules respectively.Acceptance of nurses for the materials and the incidence of the occupational injuries associated with using ampoule were surveyed in 170 nurses through the questionnaire in.Results There are significantly differences between the plastic ampoules and the glass ampoules in opening time [ (20.10 ±3.50)s vs (40.25 ±11.24)s;t =10.35,P <0.01 ],but there is no significant difference in the time of identifying ampoules and the correct rate ( t =- 0.99,P > 0.05 ).97.6% of the nurses tend to use plastic ampoule,and 99.4% of the nurses believe that the use of plastic ampoules can reduce injuries,and 72.4% of nurses believe that the plastic ampoule can be widely used.Conclusions Using the plastic ampoules can improve efficiency and effectively prevent iniuries.The plastic ampoules can be used widely in clinic.
