Harada and Harada Sassa, we performed stratified analyses by ethnicity (Supplement Figure of our article). We found that moderate coffee consumption with and without sugar was associated with lower all-cause and cancer mortality in White participants. Insignificant associations in other ethnic groups may be due to small sample size. Given the observational nature of the study, residual confounding may also be present even if confounding factors were thoroughly adjusted in Cox regression models. We acknowledge this issue in the Discussion section of our article.Mendelian randomization studies may be less affected by confounding, but ...References1. Wee CC.
