摘要
There is considerable evidence that the protoplasmic layers in cells consist of non-aqueous substances. Also it is probable that bio-electric potentials arise in surfaces of membranes containing aqueous and non-aqueous layers, with electrolytes in solution. Such potentials are known to be influenced by the concentrations of the electrolytes in the various layers.1 The distribution of electrolytes between aqueous and non-aqueous solvents will be discussed in this paper.
