We were intrigued by the results of the trial recently published by the Parkinson Study Group regarding the application of unilateral intrinsic auricular muscle zone (IAMZ) stimulation in patients with Parkinson's Disease (PD) [1]. The high-frequency (130 Hz) electrical stimulation of highly connected ear zones on the patient most affected side improved bilateral motor function in PD. In line with these findings, Professor Le Witt provided insightful commentary with a broad perspective on neuromodulation techniques involving the ear [2].
